Healthcare Management Certificate

Healthcare employers told us that they need to add supervising and management skills to the clinical skills of healthcare professionals when they are promoted.

Georgia LEADS worked with the Georgia Nurses Association and other healthcare employers to develop a Healthcare Management Certificate for healthcare professionals. [ Register for an upcoming course ]

Educators at the University of Georgia, Kennesaw State University, Georgia Southern University and other universities and colleges are developing the curriculum, working with experts in the management and healthcare fields.

Convenient Format
The Certificate Program is offered through face-to-face and online sessions. This allows first line supervisors and new managers, such as charge nurses, shift supervisors, and other healthcare management personnel, to improve their management skills while working fulltime.

Program Structure
The Certificate Program includes six 15-hour modules. Modules stand alone and may be taken in any sequence. The minimum requirement to enroll is an associate degree.

Participants who successfully complete all six 15-hour modules (90 hours of instruction), end-of-module exams and all assignments will be awarded a Certificate of Completion and 9.0 continuing education units.
